2026 College Graduate Scholarship Winner Update: Thomas Austria
Here is a glowing report of our 2026 college graduate scholarship winner. His proud father is sending us the information.
Aren’t you glad we have had a part in encouraging this young musician?
- Beverly Andrews, TMMC Scholarship Chair
Hello Beverly-
I hope you're doing well. To update you and TMMC about Thomas, he has started his masters studies in piano at UNCG. On advice of Elizabeth Loparits who also did graduate studies at UNCG, we sought a place for him walking distance to the school and we were very fortunate to find one. One of his responsibilities is to be a tutor in music theory to undergraduates.
He regularly played at Mass here in Wilmington at St. Stanislaus and St. Joseph’s. As he gets settled in Greensboro, I'm hoping he can get involved to play at Catholic churches there.
His teacher this semester at UNCG - Anthony Lee - organizes the Fourth Friday Concert Series in Raleigh, and he's promptly included Thomas for this month's concert. Link with information is below.
Warm regards,
Al Austria
